Cleaning and Maintenance 101

We can’t stress the importance of cleaning your toys enough! Cleaning after every use will allow for them to have a longer life and keep them safe to use on/in your body. A lack of maintenance and cleaning can result in bacteria growth, which can lead to infections.

However, when cleaning, you want to make sure that you are avoiding anything that has harsh chemicals, such as bleach. The simplest way to clean your toys is by buying a cleaner that is specifically made to be used on sex toys. Sex toy cleaners are great because they have been made specifically to be body-safe and usually safe to use on all toys, no matter the material.

Some of our favorite options are:

  1. Adam and Eve 4 in 1 All Purpose Toy Cleaner: This comes in a foam option and a mist option, it is a water-based cleaner that is anti-bacterial, deodorizing, disinfecting, and sanitizing. Just spray it onto a towel, wipe the toy, and rinse off with warm water.
  2. Sensuva Think Clean: Sensuva’s line of cleaners is all-natural and organic, so you can rest easy knowing that there are no harsh chemicals that will hurt you or your toy. This cleaner is anti-bacterial and has been proven to kill off over 99% of anything left on your toy. Like with all cleaners, you can apply the mist to a towel, wipe the toy, and rinse it off with water.
  3. Sensuva Think Clean Toy Powder: Toy powder is great for toys that tend to get sticky after a few washes (i.e. masturbators for men). This powder will make your toy have that “all-new” feeling again. After washing your toy with a cleaner, just apply a thin layer of the powder to get rid of any oils.
  4. Jo Organic Toy Cleaner: Jo’s all-natural cleaner is a great option for anyone who does not want to have harsh soaps touching their expensive toys. This cleaner is alcohol and soap-free, so you just spray it onto the toy, let sit for a few seconds, and then rinse off!
